The purpose of the 8th Ward Independent Democratic Association:
- to provide a two-way channel of information on the needs of the residents of the 8th Ward and of the political, social and economic issues affecting them.
- to promote the interests of the residents of the 8th Ward by endorsing and working for issues, Democratic candidates in non-partisan elections, who will represent the said residents in the City, State and Federal Governments
- to promote openness and responsible participation in the affairs of the Democratic party at all levels
