GREAT STREETS INITIATIVE SOUTH GRAND: Public Meeting and Design Charrette Announcement
Good Evening Everyone,
One of the most frequent consumer scams is the door-to door scam. Not every door-to-door salesperson is dishonest but when someone solicits you at home you should be extremely careful and follow these guidelines.
Dear Neighbor,
As your alderman I take seriously any action that affects the quality of life here in our neighborhood.
Last week, I was summoned to a hastily organized meeting in the mayor's office. The improvements to South Grand have been fast-tracked by the metropolitan planning organization called East-West Gateway. They have retained a design firm to engage the community and offer a redesign of Grand Boulevard between Arsenal and McDonald.
July's Tower Grove South Neighborhood Meeting (formerly Block Capts. meeting) will be on 7/27/09, from 7 P.M.-8:30 P.M. at 4168 Juniata
PRESENTERS:
Bill Waggoner of Grove Furnishings will speak on Morganford happenings and the new art/bike racks installed along Morganford.
Lynn Josse, neighborhood history contractor, will speak on the status of the TGS Oak Hill historic district project, which should include most of the neighborhood north of Humphrey (and some of the south side of Humphrey too!)
20 homes have responded and registered their sale for this Saturday!!! 20@$5 ea.= $100 raised (to pay for ads, flyers/maps, signage, etc.)
Money spent so far:
- newspaper ads = $39.95
Ads have been taken out in the Suburban Journal (for Wednesday), St Louis Post-Dispatch (Saturday) and stltoday.com (ongoing)
Also posted (for free) to craigslist, find it here:

The city's Curbside Recycling Cost-share Program is great, and a real bargain, especially now, because they are experimenting with single-stream recycling, and thus allow co-mingling; no separation needed! And they pick up every Friday in 63116 -- all for$45 per year.
It's much simpler than keeping things separated, loading up the car and driving to your favorite drop-off location. Try it, you'll love it!
