Ultimate (sometimes called Ultimate Frisbee) is a non-contact competitive team game played with a 175 gram flying disc. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end-zone, similar to an end-zone in American football or rugby. Players may not run while holding the disc. Ultimate is distinguished by its spirit of the game—the principles of fair play, sportsmanship, and the joy of play.

In the 1970s, Norbury Wayman was commissioned by St. Louis' Community Development Agency to record the history of the City's 27 historical neighborhoods. They provide a detailed viewpoint of the historical neighborhoods from the vantage point of the 1970's - obviously, information about the "current state" of individual neighborhoods does not apply to today's circumstances.

Tower Grove Park makes up the northern border of the Tower Grove South neighborhood. The park is home to softball, soccer, tennis, and a kickball league, as well as to the strollers, joggers, and picnickers who enjoy the Victorian pavilions and sculptures scattered throughout. The park contains more than 8,000 trees and shrubs originally imported by Henry Shaw from around the world.
Tower Grove Heights is a 12-block area within the Tower Grove South neighborhood. The Tower Grove Heights neighborhood association puts on an annual house tour and various other events.
